Exam Overview

The Databricks Certified Generative AI Engineer Associate validates your ability to design, build, deploy, govern, evaluate, and monitor LLM-enabled solutions on the Databricks platform. This is not a vocabulary test : most questions present a business scenario and ask you to select the best architecture, retrieval strategy, deployment pattern, or governance control. Multiple answers may sound technically possible, but you must identify the option that best satisfies stated constraints. The exam rewards solutions that are grounded in authoritative evidence, governed with appropriate access controls, measurable through explicit evaluation metrics, maintainable with versioning and CI/CD gates, efficient without unnecessary complexity, and production-ready with least-privilege security. You should have six months of hands-on experience with Databricks GenAI tools including MLflow, Unity Catalog, Mosaic AI, Foundation Model APIs, and Vector Search.
